Royal Navy Submarine Sails After Major Update

The nuclear-powered Royal Navy submarine HMS Triumph has sailed for trials to test improvements made to her during major refit to refuel her reactor and update her weapon systems. Captain Mike Robinson, the Superintendent Submarines for Devonport, said: "HMS Triumph sails for sea trials with significant safety and capability improvements, equipping her to provide a substantial contribution to defence during her second commission.”

See the Dockyard. Free Tours of Devonport Naval Base

The public are being offered free tours of the Naval Base including the option of a visit to an operational warship, nuclear submarine or the historic sites in the Base. The tour programme is being supported by DML. Tours for approximately 40 members of the public will operate twice a day on 4 days a week.

Football World Cup Fixtures, Times and Venues

The World Cup kicks off on Friday 11th June at 4pm (SA time). The first game is between South Africa and Mexico and the venue is the Soccer City stadium in Johannesburg. England have their first game on Saturday 12th June, they play the USA, kick off is 8:30pm and the venue is the Royal Bafokeng stadium in Rustenburg.
